Vaporizers use three methods of heating the dry herbs, wax concentrates, and oils: combustion, conductive, and convective heating.
— Combustion Heating
Combustion heating occurs when the herbs inside the heating chamber are directly exposed to the heating element. Using a combustion portable vape pen achieves the same result as using an open flame but is much safer.
— Conductive Heating
Conductive heating operates by putting the dried herb or concentrates right onto a metal plate, coil or screen. The metal element is then heated to a perfect vaporization temperature, conducting heat throughout the chamber and transforming the dry herb into vapor for even inhalation.
— Convective Heating
With convection heating, the dry herb or concentrate doesn’t come in contact with a heating element at all. Instead, hot air is moved by either a fan or inhalation to the heating chamber, cooking it and converting it into vapor without charring the substance.
To clean the chamber after use, first, you must unscrew and empty out its contents. Then, using a cleaning brush or scraping tool, gently remove any remaining dry herbs from the chamber and the heating element. If there is any remaining stubborn residue, use a cotton swab dampened with rubbing alcohol to gently wipe it away.
*Never use water to clean a heating chamber. These components usually contain unseen compact wirings inside that will be ruined by water.
1. Open the chamber and remove the mouthpiece.
2. Use a dab tool to scrape out any chunks of wax or debris – be very careful to avoid the coil.
3. Use a Q-tip, dab tool or cotton bud dampened with rubbing alcohol to scrub the rim and the inner lining of the chamber until clean
4. Vaporizers like the AGO Jr contain a component that combines the mouthpiece and the heating chamber. This component easily clogs with residue build up. To clean, scraped with a dab tool or cotton swab similar to the standard cleaning methods for the mouthpiece or chamber. You can also clean it by soaking it in rubbing alcohol. This will easily remove all residues; however, it may deteriorate the color design on the outside of the component.
