Your vape pen’s mouthpiece will attract quite a bit of debris and bacteria over its life. This is because it serves as the devices vapor pathway and as the vapor travels up through the mouthpiece, debris and particles will build up over time. Wax concentrates, in particular, can build up rather quickly and eventually even block the airway making your device virtually useless. Additionally, your mouthpiece will harbor food particles and saliva from yourself and anyone else who took a hit — gross. Thankfully, it is also the easiest to clean.
To clean, take a soft cotton cloth or cotton swab to wipe away any loose dirt or debris. For more stubborn residue, you can dampen the cotton cloth or swab with rubbing alcohol (Fingernail polish remover works fine), but make sure you check the manual first as some models react negatively when they come in contact with those types of liquids. If you do use rubbing alcohol, make sure you rinse the mouthpiece in warm water prior to use.
Just like with water bottles, bacteria is constantly building inside your vape pen’s mouthpiece. Even when you can’t see or taste it, it’s there. Avoid getting sick and inhaling harmful bacteria by washing out your mouthpiece once every two weeks.
Events where vaping is common like concerts and festivals usually consist of very little sleep and a lot of contact with strangers, which can mean only one thing – germs. Keep yourself healthy by getting as much sleep as possible, washing your hands and using different mouthpieces for each person sharing your vape. These inexpensive plastic sleeves will reduce the spread of germs and allow you to enjoy more of the festival.
We suggest that if you’re taking your portable vape pen to the beach, you store everything in a travel case or sealable plastic bag. This way, you can avoid small particles of dirt or sand from ending up in your vape pen mouthpiece.
If wind gusts are high, we suggest you take a break from the sand and surf and vape in your car or a nearby bathroom to avoid running the risk of sand blowing into your vape mouthpiece or eyes.
