Vaporesso XROS Not Charging? Here’s What to Do

If your Vaporesso XROS won’t charge, it can be frustrating—but the issue is often easy to fix. From simple connection problems to battery or device errors, there are a few common reasons this happens. In this post, we’ll walk you through the most likely causes and what steps you can take to get your vape working again. Don’t rush to replace it—a quick check might be all it needs.

Every Vaporesso XROS device has a screen or indicator light that communicates the battery’s status, and the device should always light up when you connect it to a power source with a USB cable. If the light or screen doesn’t illuminate when you connect the cable, your XROS isn’t charging.

If you have a Vaporesso XROS that isn’t charging – and you’ve been using that device for a while – it’s possible that it’s time for you to buy a new vape. Before you assume that your XROS has reached the end of its life, though, there are a few important areas that you should troubleshoot first. Fixing an XROS that doesn’t charge might be as simple as using a different charging cable or USB port.

Do you have a Vaporesso XROS that isn’t charging? Here’s what you need to do.

Replace the Charging Cable

Using a new USB cable will almost always fix a Vaporesso XROS that isn’t charging.

Replacing the USB cable is always the first thing that you should do if you have a Vaporesso XROS or any other vaping device that doesn’t charge. If you’ve been vaping for a while, the charging cable for your XROS might be the most-used USB cable in your household – and that means it’ll be the quickest to wear out.

Even under the best conditions, technology experts have mentioned that the reliability of USB-C cables seems a bit spotty. There is one thing, however, that you can potentially do to increase the life of your charging cables. When you remove a cable from a charging port, grasp it by the sturdy connector at the end rather than pulling it by the thin wire.

If your Vaporesso XROS turns on when you connect it to the charging port using a different cable, you’re all set and don’t need to do anything else. You can charge your XROS with any USB cable that fits the charging port as long as the cable is certified for power delivery. If it’s a data-only cable, it won’t work.

Try Multiple Power Sources

If your Vaporesso XROS doesn’t charge with any cable, you should eliminate the power source as the cause of the problem.

Is your XROS still not charging even though you’ve tried using a cable that you’re certain isn’t damaged? In this case, troubleshooting the power source should be your next step. Here are the five things that you need to know about charging your vape safely and reliably.

  • When you need to charge any vaping device, your computer should always be the primary power source that you use. The USB host controller in your computer will communicate with the connected device to determine the maximum safe charging rate.
  • If your XROS doesn’t charge through your computer, try connecting it to another computer or a different port on the same computer. If you’re using an older computer, make sure that the drivers for the motherboard and USB host controller are up to date.
  • You can also charge your XROS through a USB wall adapter. For maximum compatibility with your vaping devices, the wall adapter should have a 5-volt, 1-amp output.
  • You might own a smartphone, tablet or computer with a high-speed wall adapter. These types of adapters use higher currents and are designed for batteries that support quick charging. Don’t connect your XROS to this type of adapter because it could potentially cause the battery to overheat.
  • If you touch your Vaporesso XROS during charging and find that it feels unusually hot, disconnect it immediately and wait for it to cool down.

Clean the Charging Port

Power can’t transfer to your Vaporesso XROS if the port is clogged with dust and lint.

Do you carry your XROS in your pocket when you aren’t using it? If you do, you should keep in mind that your pocket could be full of dust, lint and other contaminants. If any of those things get inside the charging port, your XROS may not charge because power won’t be able to transfer to the battery.

If you’ve tried everything else to get your XROS to start charging and weren’t successful, try looking at the charging port with a flashlight. If you can see contaminants inside the port, scrape them out with a toothpick. If the toothpick doesn’t fit, you can break it to make a smaller edge.

Consider the Device’s Age

If your Vaporesso XROS is more than about a year old, it’s probably due for replacement.

The expected lifetime of a lithium-ion battery is approximately 300-500 charge cycles. A charge cycle is a complete discharge of the battery followed by a complete charge. If you drain the battery partially before recharging it, that’s a partial cycle. When a battery gets past 300-500 cycles, it may stop holding a charge.

Do you vape often enough that you need to recharge your Vaporesso XROS every day? If so, you can expect the device to last roughly a year before you’ll need to replace it. If you’re a heavy vaper and need to recharge your device more than once a day, its lifespan may be even shorter. If you’ve been using your device for a while and weren’t able to fix it by following the steps in this article, it’s probably time to head to Vape Vibe for a new device.

Before a vape battery stops holding a charge, there are often signs that it’s getting close to the end of its life. Those signs include:

  • Shorter battery life: You feel like you need to stop vaping and recharge your XROS more often than you did when the device was new.
  • Extremely short charging time: When you connect your XROS to a power source, it seems to finish charging after just a few minutes. Also, the device’s life seems to be extremely short before you need to charge it again. These symptoms indicate that the battery’s capacity has been severely reduced.
  • Extremely long charging time: When you connect your XROS to a power source, it lights up but never seems to finish charging. This symptom indicates that the battery can’t finish charging because it’s unable to reach its target voltage.
