The G Pen Elite is a mid-range, handheld dry herb vaporizer. It is one of the best handheld dry herb vapes at this price point for new users and veterans alike. It is easy to use, and the ergonomic design feels great to hold. While this is a compact vape, it fits more dry herbs than many other vapes of the same size. The G Pen Elite provides clean, flavorful vapors that are enjoyable and will meet or exceed expectations of a dry herb vape.

If you are in the market for a dry herb vape but do not have hundreds of dollars laying around, the G Pen Elite is a solid choice. At a mid-range price point, it is affordable but still provides high-quality vapor. The simple design is easy to use while still packed with great features.

Ease of Use and Ergonomic Design

This dry herb vape is designed for newbies and veterans alike. It is easy to use making it perfect for those new to the vaping game. The single button on the front turns the pen on with five quick clicks. There are two side buttons that control the vape temperature conveniently placed next to the LED temperature display.

A lot of these compact dry herb vaporizers can get quite hot, and the G Pen Elite is no different. However, its ergonomic handgrip makes it easy and comfortable to hold, without getting too hot where it matters.

Large Herb Chamber for Compact Vape

The downside on a lot of handheld dry herb vapes is the size of the dry herb chamber. It is a bit annoying when you have to repack your vape every couple of rips. The G Pen Elite delivers clean, flavorful vapor where you can really taste the sweet, sour, piney or other flavors in your herbs. No matter how hard you pull from the G Pen Elite, it does not generate thick smoke clouds comparable to those created by smoking pipes, joints and other smoking methods – this is a vape pen and it will create vapors. The G Pen Elite delivers quality, tasty vapor at about half the price of some other vapes. If the DaVinci IQ is the Ferrari of dry herb vapes, the G Pen Elite is the Lexus. What Comes in the Kit

This vape comes with everything you need to get started. Along with the actual dry herb vape, the G Pen Elite comes with a micro USB vape charging cable, a G Pen tool, a G card and a G cleaning brush. If you lose the charging cable, do not stress, you can use any micro USB cable to charge the G Pen Elite. The G Pen tool can be used to help pack your herbs into the chamber and the G card is a card style grinder. This is a great substitute if you either do not have a grinder or you are out and left your grinder at home.

How to Use the G Pen Elite Vaporizer

Unboxing and Sterilizing

First off, you will need to charge the G Pen Elite. It should come with a partially charged battery, but it is always a good idea to fully charge it when you first get it. Using the included USB cable or any micro USB cable, charge the G Pen until the display indicates a full battery.

When getting a new vaporizer, we always recommend sterilizing/priming it before vaping. This will help ensure the heating chamber is pure. Remove the mouthpiece and press the power button on the front five times quickly to turn the pen on. Using the temperature controls on the side of the vape, adjust the temperature to the highest setting. You want to leave it cooking for about 5 plus minutes at the highest temperature. However, the G Pen Elite has a 5-minute auto-shutoff safety feature so may have to repeat the process a couple of times.

Vaping with the G Pen Elite

Now that your G Pen Elite is sterilized, you are ready to vape. You will get the best vapor and airflow if you use only finely ground herbs. You can use the included G Card grinder if you do not have a grinder of your own already. Pack some ground herbs into the spacious herb chamber, packing it down slightly with a finger or the G Pen tool and replace the mouthpiece.

Turn on the G Pen Elite again by pressing the power button five times quickly and set the temperature using the two buttons next to the display on the side of the vape. You will see the temperature rapidly rising and when it has reached your desired temperature, take a long, slow inhale from the mouthpiece. If the vapor tastes too harsh or burnt, turn down the temperature slightly. On the other hand, if you feel like not much vapor is being produced, turn the temperature up slightly.

Maintenance and Cleaning the G Pen Elite

The good news is the G Pen Elite requires very little vape maintenance and vape cleaning. The mouthpiece might need cleaning from time to time to clear up the vapor pathway. Simply drop this in a bowl of rubbing alcohol and swish it around for about 30 seconds. Check to make sure all residue is gone. You can use the cleaning brush to remove any leftover residue. Make sure you rinse the mouthpiece in warm water and dry it before use. If there is residue stuck inside the herb chamber that can’t be removed with the cleaning brush or a dab tool, you should be able to burn it off by heating the G Pen Elite to the highest temperature for a while with the mouthpiece removed. Since this vape has a five-minute auto-shutoff, you will have to turn it back on after 5 minutes. After baking, any leftover residue should come out easily. If there is any other problem with your G Pen Elite, all electronic components are covered under a one-year warranty through Grenco Science. You can also contact the retailer where you bought your vape. They may be able to get you a replacement quicker.

How the G Pen Elite compares to the competition

The G Pen Elite is a mid-range, portable dry herb vaporizer. Budget dry herb vapes like the Yocan Evolve D are often combustion vapes. This means they burn the herbs, so you are essentially electronically smoking. Most mid to high-range dry herb vapes like the G Pen Elite use convection to heat the herbs hot enough to create a vapor but not hot enough to burn them. This is where you get that clean, flavorful vapor devoid of smoke. If you want a true vapor, the G Pen Elite is one of the best value options.

Around the same price point as the G Pen Elite is the popular E-CLIPSE dry herb vaporizer. These two dry herb vapes are very similar in vapor quality, build, and size. They have the same capacity battery but the E-Clipse tends to get slightly better vape time out of a full charge. However, the G Pen Elite has a larger herb chamber which means repacking less often. Both have fully ceramic herb chambers and are almost identical in use. The only main difference being all the buttons on the E-Clipse are on the front surrounding the LED screen and the temperature buttons and display are on the side of the G Pen Elite.

While the G Pen Elite is one of the best dry herb vapes for the price, there are more technology forward vaporizers in the high-end market. Vapes like DaVinci IQ and Firefly 2 can be programmed with complex vaping profiles from an app on your smartphone. These two vapes can also generate thicker vapor than the G Pen Elite. If you want the newest and best technology, consider something like the DaVinci IQ. However, if you are just looking for a compact dry herb vaporizer with a large chamber that also generates smooth, flavorful vapor, the G Pen Elite may be just the vape for you.
