Vaporizers are the new wave of technology for enthusiasts of herb, waxes, and concentrates. They are cleaner and healthier than older methods of consumption and have enjoyed the full benefits of today’s computer technology. Vaporizers offer these and other benefits:
Despite an initial investment in a vaporizer, which can be a hundred dollars or more, vaping often generates a hit that is twice as tasty as with conventional herbal consumption methods, and the vapor you are consuming is much healthier for your lungs and the rest of your body. Some tests, in fact, report 95% less harmful carcinogens and toxins present.
As vape technology began to blossom, upstart company Pulsar had a huge hit with their original APX vaporizer, obliterating its competitors’ sales records. The company finally captured lightning in a bottle, having developed a highly affordable dry herb vaporizer which actually vaporizes your herbs instead of burning them.
Now Pulsar has outdone itself. The APX 2 vaporizer is a vast improvement on its formidable forbearer, the APX 1. It features the same sturdy, hard-body casing ensuring its durability. The design is similar, sleek and small to fit in the palm of your hand. But the APX 2 is even more discreet than the original APX, with a smaller mouthpiece for a less distracting look. Specializing in herbal vaping, which the APX 2 does exclusively, means some of the bulkier design aspects of wax and oil vaping could be removed. As a result, the APX 2 herb vape in a way looks better and more compact than its predecessor, blending in easily with other items in your purse or briefcase. The new APX 2 shares the first vape’s single-button control design, which lets the user easily cycle through preset temperatures and turn the device on and off with just a few clicks of the button. There’s a slight learning curve, but much less than other vapes I’ve tried, which have all manner of codes and combinations that can be hard to remember.
The new and improved APX 2 dry herb vaporizer offers a range of other improvements, including faster heat-up time, more precise temperature control, and an LED screen that displays the temperature and battery life, and many more features.
Pulsar wisely stuck with the standard 1600 mAh lithium battery. Charge time is around 90 minutes which will last between 30 – 45 minutes of use, considerable for the battery’s small size. It’s not as long as the previous vape’s battery, which might have lasted two hours, but the superior performance of the new model makes that trade-off more than fair. The micro-USB charger makes charging easy to do almost anywhere! You can even charge from a device like a laptop or even your phone! Most power strips have USB ports these days, so a wall charger may not even be necessary.
One of the best things about the Pulsar APX 2 is that it’s so easy to pack. Just remove the ergonomically improved mouthpiece, load your herb into the chamber (don’t pack it too tightly) and replace the mouthpiece. There’s no need to turn the device over, retrieve an extra part, flip the thing back over to attach them. When you’re on the go, you don’t need to hassle with a lot of parts and assembly. The APX 2 makes all that a thing of the past.
We recommend a finer ground herb, as it encourages superior heat flow and creates an all-around better vaping experience. You can grind by hand or pick up one of a variety of grinders on the market, all affordable and functional. There are even grinder cards available now, which fit easily into your wallet.
The APX 2 has a wide heating chamber, so there’s minimal spillage during the loading process. There’s no need for plastic funnels or other loading devices. Just tap in a line of herbs and you’re done! As we’ve said, fine grounds are better. And Pulsar accommodates this with a screen at the bottom of the chamber to stop any of that finely ground herb from falling into the heating element. Replace the mouthpiece on top and turn it on.
The LED indicator light turns green from red, indicating that the device is ready to be used. It takes about only a minute to get to an ideal temperature.
The vape features one button on the side and an LED screen displaying two different colored icons (temperature and battery level). The mouthpiece is on the top of the device. If you can’t find it, you’ve probably already had enough vape anyway.
Press the power button five times to turn on the vaporizer. Hold the button for 3 seconds to begin cycling through the 5 temperature settings, and release to choose your setting on the LED screen. Hold down the power button and inhale through the mouthpiece. You can also change the temperature settings while vaping. The 5 temperature settings begin at 356°F and go up to 428°F.
If you miss your desired temperature, you will have to go around the cycle again.
The APX 2 has a larger silicone herb chamber and no longer requires a screen. It also has a much faster heat-up time, just 30 seconds. That makes on-the-go use all the easier and more convenient, and that’s where this vape really shines.
To use the APX 2 herbal vaporizer, there’s no need to master a lot of setting functions or install a phone app. It’s self-contained and ready to use. It won’t vape for you, of course, but that’s just about it.
The silicone-lined mouthpiece also gets sticky fast, which affects the flavor of the vapor as you inhale. But it’s easy to clean. You’ll be pulling out and cleaning or replacing the screens, of course. To clean the vape mouthpiece and other parts, use isopropyl alcohol or even warm water. Just make sure it’s not boiling water. The plastic won’t corrode or break, which is a plus over popular glass mouthpieces. We recommend regular cleaning for a more consistently pleasing vape experience. And make sure you detach any parts you’re going to clean this way, as water will destroy the electronics inside the device. If you must clean something on the device, use a cotton swap dampened with alcohol, but wring it out first. Even the slightest drop of liquid inside your device will fry it.
The APX 2 Vape features Pulsar’s improved silicone cooling system. But the vape can be quick to heat and slow to cool, so be careful. The APX 2 Dry Herb Vaporizer is packed right underneath the mouthpiece. This results in hits that are sometimes a bit hot, so be careful! We suggest lower temps to reduce this problem.
It’s easy to be discreet with the APX 2 Vape. It fits in the palm of your hand, it’s lightweight and easy to carry around. It comes with a nifty carrying case too. If you clean it regularly, odor won’t stick to it. We suggest vaping at low temperatures to avoid more pungent vapor clouds, though.
The APX V2 does produce excellent vape clouds, but being a budget, portable vaporizer, the more experienced and demanding vape or smoke enthusiast may find it underwhelming. But that makes it perfect for the majority of users, many of whom are new to the vaping experience and cannot handle the overwhelming hits that others crave. That’s part of what makes vape tech so great, that it caters to everybody’s individual needs, just about no matter what they are.
Not only is the APX 2 herbal vaporizer simple and stylish and ergonomically designed, it has perfect functionality at a price most others just can't compete with. It’s durable and, most importantly, produces great tasting clouds. It’s true that, unlike its more flexible predecessor, the APX 2 only uses herbs as opposed to waxes and concentrates. But that made the previous device more complicated in just about every way. So it’s clear that the folks at Pulsar have chosen to specialize this particular device for herbs to create a better end result which is easier to achieve. With its size and weight, amazing style, and unbeatable price, the APX 2 vaporizer deserves its place on the top of every vape enthusiast’s list.
