How to use the Dugout Pipe
The most important thing to keep in mind, is to always grind up the dry herbs before placing them inside the dugout box. The ground up herbs will make it easier to pack the one hitter, plus it will be easier to clear out after smoking. If the dog out does not come with a clearing tool it would be a good idea to have one of your own. A paperclip actually makes for a fantastic clearing tool. To clear the one-hitter, simply blow out what you can and then scrape away the rest with the clearing tool. Clear from the top. Running the clearing tool from the mouthpiece and out through the bowl pack area is only recommended when doing a thorough cleaning. Do not do that from pack to pack because resin Will likely get all over the mouthpiece and make everything sticky. Even though the pipe is called a one-hitter, you can actually get 2 to 3 puffs depending on the packing.
How to Clean the One-Hitter Pipe
To clean the one-hitter pipe, at least for a thorough cleaning, it is best to soak it in some sort of cleaning solution. Warm water and soap help, however, glass pipe cleaners and similar degreasing solutions can be better. After the pipe has been soaking, continue to let it soak, but also speed up the cleaning by manually scraping the interior with a paperclip for a similar type of item. Continue to scrape and soak until you are satisfied. Always thoroughly rinse under warm water after using it any sort of cleaning solution. Use warm water at high pressure to not only rinse the piece, but to also help push out any remaining resins. After a thorough rinse, forcefully blow through it the pipe to remove water and resins. Let the piece dry on a sheet of paper towel.
